The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Shu’aibu Abdulkadir, a 35-year-old suspect, in connection with the murder of Rumaisa Haruna, a 22-year-old housewife attacked in her matrimonial home in Tsamiyar Duhuwa, Kano. The confirmation was made in a press statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, via his verified Facebook page.
Details of the Incident:
According to the police statement, the victim was found with deep neck injuries by her husband, Ibrahim Mohammed, on April 6, 2025. She was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Following an investigation led by the State Criminal Investigation Department, assisted by intelligence-led technical operations, the suspect was apprehended on May 23, 2025. During interrogation, Abdulkadir confessed to trespassing into the victim’s residence, strangling her, and stabbing her in the neck with a knife, leading to her death.
