The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has issued an administrative notice reporting a fire incident at one of its office facilities in Abuja.
According to the notice, the incident occurred on Saturday, 20 December 2025, at the FIRS office located at No. 15 Sokode Crescent, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja. The fire broke out on the fourth floor of the building and was contained following an immediate response by on-site security personnel, with support from the Federal Capital Territory Fire Service and other emergency responders.
The Service stated that no fatalities were recorded. It confirmed that several offices on the affected floor sustained damage. FIRS further disclosed that an internal investigation into the cause of the fire has commenced, with preliminary assessments indicating a possible electrical fault. The Service also noted that internal safety protocols are under review.
No statute, regulation, executive directive, or subsidiary legislation was announced in connection with the incident.
