The Nigerian Bar Association Ungogo Branch has conducted a one-day copyright law training programme for lawyers in Kano as part of its continuing legal education activities.
The programme, held on 8 September 2025, was organised in collaboration with the Nigerian Copyright Commission and focused on professional practice issues arising under Nigeria’s copyright framework. Topics addressed during the training included copyright and related rights, statutory limitations and exceptions, infringement, remedies, and emerging challenges associated with digital content and online distribution.
The training was structured to combine technical presentations with interactive discussions and practical illustrations relevant to legal practice. Participation was open to lawyers within the branch’s jurisdiction, with sessions designed to support professional competence in advising clients operating within creative, media, and digital sectors.
The programme received formal approval from the Institute of Continuing Legal Education, making it eligible for Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) points for participants who satisfied attendance requirements.
The copyright law training formed part of the branch’s institutional programme aimed at facilitating compliance with professional education obligations and providing structured learning opportunities for its members.
