The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has reiterated that Nigerian taxpayers can access assistance on various tax-related concerns through its official communication channels, as part of efforts to enhance public trust and ease tax compliance.
The tax agency made this known via an announcement on its verified X (formerly Twitter) handle, reminding the public that it maintains multiple helplines, email services, and social media channels to respond to tax enquiries.
In a post shared yesterday, the agency specifically listed its official helpline number—02094602700, dedicated social media handle @AskFIRS, and email contact helpdesk@firs.gov.ng as active support points for individuals and businesses seeking help with issues such as Tax Identification Numbers (TIN), tax returns, payments, and compliance obligations.
Tax matters don’t have to be confusing — verified help is just a call or click away, says FIRS.
The agency urged taxpayers to avoid unofficial or unverified third-party intermediaries, warning that only its official channels are authorised to provide tax advisory services and resolve account-related issues.
What’s Next?
FIRS is expected to intensify public enlightenment campaigns, particularly through digital media, to further publicise these contact channels as Nigeria’s tax system continues its shift to digital operations.
